Frequently Asked Questions

What is Love Me Do Photography, and why are there multiple photographers?

Each of us have spent years working on our own in photography, while sharing resources with other photographers. Since we have a common field and interest, we thought, "why not bring our businesses together, and proceed as a team?" Thus, Love Me Do was formed! Since there are multiple photographers, we allow you to choose which one you would like to have photograph your wedding, based on your personal tastes and our different styles of shooting.

Why do you photograph weddings?

We love photography and photographing everything! Photographs keep memories alive forever. We photograph weddings not only because it's extra fun, but also because we believe it is important to capture those special moments.

How do you define your style as a wedding photographer?

Our style draws from traditional training and classic aesthetics. We shoot with a photojournalist approach which captures genuine and candid moments as they unfold throughout the course of your wedding day. However, we do this with an aesthetic that combines vintage, feminine, and classic styles. We stray away from cliche poses and feel each individual is beautiful in their own way. "Unphotogenic" people need not to worry either, because we don't believe in the word!

What kind of art/which artists influence you?

Nadine finds a great amount of influence from her love and fascination with cinematography. Inspired by the film noir era of the 1940's and 50's to directors such as David Lynch, she draws from the visual motifs, characters, camera angles, lighting effects, and the story lines that characterize these films. Focusing on themes of storytelling, fantasy and reality, desire and romance, she also finds influence from other photographers like Anna Gaskell, Gregory Crewdson, Todd Hido, and Jeff Wall. The colors, architecture, themes of the American home in the 1970's, also plays a major role in her work.

Carina has always been highly effected by the photographs of Walker Evans. His photographs from the Depression not only are beautiful images, but they also provide us with visual documentation of a very difficult time in the history of our country. She also takes a lot of her compositional style from cinematography, with her favorite director being Wes Anderson (Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, etc). As far as everything else in life, she loves 1950s clothing, 1960s music, 1970s architecture, and 1980s jewelry.

How do we secure a date?

Once you confirm your date with us, a signed contract and a retainer in amount of half of your total invoice will hold the date for you. The remaining balance will be due 10 days prior to your wedding date.

What kind of equipment do you use?

We use the latest professional digital equipment, which includes Canon Digital SLR cameras with professional lenses. We also provide additional strobes and external lighting when necessary. Carina also uses color medium format (120mm) film and on occation, black and white film.

Why shoot film or digital?

We shoot for the quality of an image. Digital provides us with instant results, high resolution images that allows to be flexible in terms of choosing b/w or color for an image and other options we can discuss with you. In addition, Carina shoots medium format film because of the aesthetic quality of Kodak films paired with the incredibly crisp lens on her Hasselblad, providing ultra-sharp images.

What products and serviced do you offer?

We are always keeping a eye out for the latest products and books to offer you. We offer a choice of matte and flush albums, coffee table style books, prints, Hi-Res DVDs, and an array of additional shoots and sessions. Your album can be customized by size and material. If there's anything you'd like us to look into for your wedding, let us know. We're also open to new ideas!

Why are the products and services offered a la carte?

Just like your wedding day, we like to customize your service so you get just what you want.

What is the private website that will show our images and how can we order prints?

All the images from your wedding will be uploaded to a private website so you and your guests will be able to view them online. This will allow you to share all your wedding images with friends and family, where they can view and order prints at their own leisure.

Do you offer destination weddings?

Yes! We love to travel and can work with you on your destination wedding to provide you with the best coverage on your big day.

Do you retouch the images?

Yes. Every image from your wedding is processed according to the following: color balance, density, saturation, and optimized composition. In addition, our favorite images from your wedding are further retouched to present your memories in the most beautiful way possible. If you have an extra special request for retouching, just let us know and we can customize a quote depending on the scale of project involved.
