Wow, Jessica and John were so much fun!  We first began talking to them about a year ago when they were planning a destination wedding in California.  With the economy the way it was, they decided to take a friend  up on the offer to use his gallery as the venue, where they live in Las Vegas.   Since the gallery was essentially a blank slate, John and Jessica were able to make the wedding so much more their style than any other place they could.  We were super excited to go to Vegas (no we did not gamble, but we did get to hang out in a shark tank pool) and we also got to go to the Neon Boneyard for a day after shoot. (I’ll post that one seperately)

I some info from John about the vendors and all the cool things the two of them made that helped make this day so unique, personal, and super fun

Jessica’s dress was from Oleg Casini, she made her cute little Bolero Jacket.  John’s suit is from Michael Korrs.

The boys all wore ties from Cyberoptix Tie Lab http://www.cyberoptix.com/

The real flowers were  from the Enchanted Florist in Vegas

Natalie Littlefield Catering Unlimeted did the catering. A friend, Eric Foemmel, AKA Dr. Leisure, (he has a PHD in ‘Lesuire Studies’)  officiated the cermony.

A friend of a friend (now their friend), Marty Eats DJed and totally rocked it.

Jessica and John made/put together just about everything else themselves:

Decorations were ordered from www.bulkpartysupplies.com (garlands and all the balls etc. also the bells to make the flowers.)

Centerpieces were a conglomeration of found items from many places in cluding tons of hand made paper flowerers (faux flowers in bases were from www.afloral.com)
Take away bags were hand stamped and filled with fun goodies from all over (Including homemade Hawiian lollypops!)
Table runners and Photo-Booth drape were hand stitched from fabric found at a local fabric store.
Gift sign painting and seating chart were put together by John
Candy Bar Design/candy/jars etc was by Jessica too, including the lollypop holders etc.
Cake topper was a vintage one found on Ebay, (base and details added by Jessica)
In John’s own words: “We threw a party that everyone enjoyed, and  it really was all we hoped it to be. (Much thanks again to Jessica’s amazing planning skills)”

Mary Fran and Adam 4.18.09

Our second wedding of the season did not dissapoint!  Mary Fran and Adam got married at Lucy the Elephant in Margate, on the Jersey shore.  How many people can say they have photographed a wedding inside an elephant?! Quite possibly the best wedding venue ever.   Surprisingly this was our first actual beach wedding and we had a blast!  Mary Fran and Adam were so much fun to work with.  We got to spend a long time just photographing the two of them, which is what we like best!

Thanks Mary Fran and Adam, I hope you enjoy they photos as much as we enjoyed taking them!

Two-thousand-nine!

A lot of great things have been going on at Love Me Do Photography as we kick off this Spring season of weddings! We are all very excited with the weddings we are shooting this year.

We love seeing how creative couples can get with the planning of their wedding. We’ve been meeting with so many inspiring individuals with great ideas, and it’s getting us pumped to photograph them. This year Amanda and Carina are looking forward to a few beach weddings, a wedding at Lucy the Elephant, a central park NYC wedding, a bowling alley wedding, a 4th of July celebration wedding, a few weddings on farms, and so many other beautiful locations! Amanda and I will get to travel to Central PA, the Jersey Shore, NYC, Buffalo NY, and Boston this year. Nadine will also be shooting quite a few weddings beach weddings, a wedding near City Hall in Philly, Valley Forge park, and even a wedding at the cool castle-like Baldwin School.

Some new products we’re excited about is a new online proofing site we’re going to try out this year, and additional wedding album options for couples who like a more traditional album as opposed to a coffee-table book.

We’ve been connecting with other photographers in our area as well as other wedding vendors, expanding our list of referrals, as well as trading ideas for techniques, products, and networking. This year we will be keeping an eye out for any “green” or DIY elements in our clients’ weddings, and posting them on our blog as inspiration to other couples planning their weddings.

Other big news for myself, is that Carina will be in France from April 30th-May 25th traveling, photographing, visiting family and farming!

Also, 2010 might mark a big year for Carina, as she may be moving out to Los Angeles for a year by the end of the fall. She will still be taking weddings for 2010, and will probably move after the last one of the season. Amanda will remain in Philadelphia, so we’ll be shooting coast-to-coast!

That’s about it for now. Keep checking for new wedding photos soon!

Jamie and Basil: 11.15.08 (photography by Carina and Amanda)

Jamie and Basil’s wedding brought us to tears. Literally! After the toasts during the reception, Basil walked over to the stage, pulled out a guitar, and sang a song he wrote of his love for Jamie. Amanda and I had to hold back tears while we were photographing that special moment! Not only was it visually apparent of their love for one another, but it was also a gorgeous day. Before Jamie could step outside, the rain clouds disappeared, allowing us to photograph them with the trees changing color in the background. It was the best wedding to end the season on.

Thanks Jamie and Basil for letting us photograph your wedding!
