Alison and Kirk: 3.27.10, photographed by Carina and Amanda

Alison and Krik’s wedding was so unique and fun to shoot!
Alison has graciously forwarded me some info about her wedding:
Anna McCraney [link] made Alison’s dress. She’s a friend of the bride who’s also a really talented designer. The inspiration was a vintage Ossie Clark dress that Alison saw a celebrity wear to a premiere.
I really just wanted something with a vintage feel.
The church was St. Malachy’s Catholic Church. The officiant was the bride’s uncle, Father Ken Hallahan.
That’s why we had it in the church to begin with…we really wanted him to be part of it, so we had to do it there.
The flowers are from Nature’s Gallery Florist, who have a lot of organic/locally sourced/seasonal flowers. M Catering catered the reception held at the German Society of Philadelphia [link]. Classic Cakes made the wedding cake.
The closest we got to DIY (other than the kid’s goodie bags) on everything else was just trying to make the whole thing feel unique, not overly formal, and showcase our friends talents as much as possible.
The DJ was a friend, Brian Curtis.
He was the only person I could have ever wanted to dj our wedding, because his taste is so good and he is very effective at starting a party. I flew him out from California just to do it (thankfully, he only wanted the plane ticket as payment!).
As far as the venue was concerned: We wanted something a little unique, without too much of a “wedding hall” feel. We really liked the library, and the hardwood floors, oil paintings, and big windows in the ballroom. Plus the price was right, so there you go.
Favorite thing about the wedding? We felt like the “vibe” of the wedding was a really good, fun, positive one. Looking at the pictures makes us remember how great of a mood it was…everyone looked so good, it was great to see our friends and family dancing all together, and there was a lot of laughter. That made it really special for us.
